Do you offer fundraising opportunities?Yes! For groups and organizations interested in orchestrating fundraising projects, Beading Hearts is a valuable, effective, and reliable source. We strive to make this an easy process for you and the success of your project. Please contact us for full details so we can customize the product selection for your specific needs.
What should I engrave? You can be a specific as you choose. It can be as simple as "Diabetic" or "Sulfa Allergy"; and you can engrave your doctor's name and telephone #. Even if you don't have an allergy or medical condition, you can inform paramedics that you are an "Organ Donor".
In the case of an allergy, it is understood that by stating the word "peanut" or "morphine", emergency care professionals understand this to mean you have an allergy. By eliminating the word 'allergy', this can save valuable space on the medical ID tag for other pertinent information.
How do I determine what size I should order?Typically, women's bracelets are size 7, men's are 8.5, and children's are 6.5. For a custom fit of our beaded bracelets, measure the smallest part of your wrist and add 1 inch. If you feel you need assistance with this aspect, please contact us and we will be happy to help.
Our Vital ID line is fully adjustable and provides a range of sizes. Please refer to specific Vital ID sections for sizing. There are other adjustable options with our engravable and waterproof sport straps, faux leather, and leather watch strap styles.
How should I care for my bracelet or necklace? Our nylon and athletic bands are hand washable for your convenience. The inserts for our Vital ID line are made with a waterproof paper so they can be worn while participating in water sports, etc.
Sterling silver will eventually tarnish. We do offer a Cleansing Gel & Brush which is easy to use and will keep your beaded bracelet looking stunning. Another way to clean your bracelet or pendant is to use a jewelry polishing cloth and periodically rub the sterling silver areas. Standard over-the-counter cleaners can be used for polishing or you may choose to have it professionally polished (keep in mind that any daisy beads on your bracelet have an antiqued look which should be mentioned if taken to a jeweler). It is not advisable to use 'jewelry baths' and immerse your bracelet in this type of solution as it will remove any antiquing; instead please use a soft cloth or brush with cleaner and rub along the bracelet.
Our recommendation is to not wear your beaded bracelet while swimming, enjoying the hot tub, or bathing. Exposing your silver to chemicals such as bleach, ammonia or chlorinated water can damage silver and accelerate tarnishing. With proper care, your bracelet can stay looking fresh.
Are your bracelets interchangeable? If you like the different beaded styles, one more casual and the other for a more formal look, order the first bracelet with the ID tag and for the second bracelet order an "interchangeable band"; both ends come with a clasp so all you have to do is... unhook for a new look!
Will my bracelet stretch? No! All beaded bracelets are made with coated stainless steel jewelry wire and will not stretch so please ensure that you order the correct size. Our other styles of bracelets and necklaces are non-stretchable as well.
What does gold-filled mean? The difference between gold-filled and gold-plated is the amount of gold. Gold-filled products must have at least 1/20 of their weight in 14K gold which means that they will remain gold for a lifetime if cared for properly (unless you are constantly using harsh chemicals or abrasives which could affect the layer of gold). Gold-plated products have a very thin layer of gold, about 7 millionths of an inch, which will eventually wear and not last as long.
What are your shipping times, methods, and rates? It takes approximately 2 business days to complete your custom engraving, wallet card, etc. Mailing times, methods, and rates are as follows:
| $4 regular mail (7-10 business days) | $9 Xpresspost (3-5 business days) | | $4 regular mail (8-10 business days) | $13 Xpresspost (5-7 business days) | | $5 regular airmail (10-15 business days) | $50 Xpresspost (7-9 business days) |
For specific circumstances, please contact us prior to ordering so arrangements can be made.
Is there a warranty on my purchase? We have provided accurate descriptions and enlargements of photos to assist you with ordering your desired product, thereby minimizing the need for returns. Occasionally errors in judgement can occur and we will refund your money within 15 days of your order if you are not satisfied with your purchase provided that it has not been worn and there is no custom engraving involved. A refund will be issued the same way you paid for your purchase. Shipping fees will not be refunded.
We guarantee the workmanship of our beaded bracelets for six months. If it does not fit or happens to break, we will replace it free of charge during this period. Should your bracelet break after the six months, a fee of $10 will be charged for restringing.
For any Vital ID products, we offer a 30 day warranty should there be any defect with the product.
For any of our other products, a 30 day warranty is also in effect.
Personalized items will be replaced only if an error was made in engraving.
If you have any other questions about warranties or returns, please contact us.
